Qualified as a chartered accountant in 1982 and founded the accountancy practice now known as AEL Markhams in the same year.

Nic joined the board of directors of Hill Robinson International Ltd as finance director in January 2001 and has worked closely with the founders of the Hill Robinson Group in the development of its business activities.
