The Role – Fleet Compliance Manager
You will support the Fleet Compliance Department to ensure that all managed vessels are manned and operated in accordance with International, Flag, Class and Local Regulations and the provisions of the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS). Your typical duties will include (but not limited to):
- Safety & Compliance Oversight – Review and improve SMS procedures, manage incident reporting, and implement corrective actions.
- Training & Drills – Organise safety and security exercises, ensuring vessel crews are prepared for emergency scenarios.
- Regulatory Management – Maintain manuals, ensure vessel certification, liaise with Flag and Class authorities, and conduct internal audits.
- Risk & Incident Management – Monitor non-conformities, analyse safety trends, and recommend improvements.
- Fleet Support & Reporting – Provide compliance guidance, issue fleet notices, and support owner reporting.
- Safety Management Administration – Assist with system support, training, and crew certification tracking.
What experience does a Fleet Compliance Manager need to have?
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to liaise in a professional manner with clients, suppliers, colleagues and other contacts as may be required
- Knowledge of ISM, ideally either through experience as an Officer on board, or as a Yacht Manager
- Bilingual (English / French) beneficial but not required
- Organised, ability to prioritise, flexible and attentive to details
- Proficient in Word and Excel, and “tech-savvy”
