Founders Nick Hill and Niall Robinson take to the classic yacht circuit once again

Hill Robinson is proud to announce its return to Monaco Classic Week, the iconic celebration of maritime heritage hosted by the Yacht Club de Monaco from 10-13 September 2025.

For us, this event is more of a homecoming than a regatta. Our founders, Nick Hill and Niall Robinson, will race their own classic yachts—Dambuster with Nick, Sardonyx and Brynhilde with Niall—embracing the same passion for heritage, spirit of adventure, and respect for each other that initially brought them together.

It was on classic yachts like these that Nick and Niall first crossed paths. Three key people met aboard the 65.3-metre three-masted tops’l schooner Jessica: Nick as Chief Officer, Niall as deckhand, alongside John Bardon as Master (and project manager). It was the beginning of a partnership that would come to create something unique in the world of superyachts. The three still sail together today.

Hill Robinson was founded after Nick and Niall’s seagoing career, including focus in the classic yacht world, first aboard Jessica, then Creole, Avel, Partridge, Tigris, and others. John would later join Hill Robinson as director of the Palma office.

That’s why Monaco Classic Week holds such resonance with us today: a celebration of classic yachts, yes, but also of the story that brought us together over twenty five years ago.

Other team members will also be racing in the regatta alongside our founders. Niel Gow, Agency Operations Manager, is set to participate in the race aboard Black Swan with the Amaala Yacht Club. Project Manager Gabriele Niems—usually found on the Yacht Club de Monaco’s beloved Tuiga—will also join the Amaala team this year after Tuiga lost her mast in Spain. Following the incident—a damaging squall strike, similar to one Sardonyx survived in 2020—Nick and Niall will help to accommodate Tuiga’s crew.

Monaco Classic Week is well known for its Concours d’Elegance, high-stakes regattas, and vibrant social calendar. Follow our channels for live updates as we honour our heritage—both that of our company and that of the maritime world that inspires us—and look to the future of yachting together.
