UK charters available with Hill Robinson

Amaryllis and Hyperion available for charter in the UK with Hill Robinson…

Motor Yacht Amaryllis

Today, the world is at an interesting juncture where both far-flung destinations and domestic exploration are on the rise. On the one hand, superyacht owners and guests are beginning to look further afield for their superyacht experiences. Conversely, we are in the midst of a pandemic that has had a limiting effect on international travel and tourism. The UK, interestingly, offers both a unique superyacht experience for those that are more accustomed to the traditional superyachting hotspots, as well as presenting an unrivalled opportunity for UNHWIs who wish to holiday locally to explore the many and various luxuries of the UK’s coastal waters, and what better way to do it than on board 78.4m M/Y Amaryllis or 47.4m S/Y Hyperion, both of which are available for charter in the UK with Hill Robinson.

Motor Yacht Hyperion

Delivered in 2011 by Abeking & Rasmüssen, Amaryllis was inspired by the Belle Époque, Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Designed by Reymond Langton and delivered in 2011, she showcases the hallmarks of some of the superyacht industry’s most revered names and collaborators. With accommodation for up to 12 guests, she has an owner’s deck with private terrace, VIP suite on the main deck, plus three double cabins and one twin cabin on the lower deck. She boasts a beach club with gym and spa facilities aft, allowing direct access to the sea from a swim platform. The sundeck includes a five-metre pool.

Alternatively, Royal Huisman-built Hyperion offers the epitome of traditional sailing elegance. Having competed in some of the world’s most prestigious superyacht races, she boasts both high performance and luxurious comfort. Her tastefully designed interior can host up to six guests across three spacious cabins, two doubles and one twin with stylish living quarters. Her exterior offers ample deck space, as well as a swim platform and a sun deck.

Whether it’s the Channel Islands or Scotland’s west coast, the UK offers a wealth of opportunities, experiences and landscapes to rival some of the world’s most sought after yachting locations. With a number of the globe’s most exclusive golf courses and distilleries, situated within the rolling green and blue of Scotland’s beautiful vistas, the region remains one of the most popular UHNWI locations. And, if Whiskey, golf and history are not enough, the Channel Islands and the Southern United Kingdom offer a variety of exclusive appearances and locations to satisfy even the most discerning superyacht clients.

A Year of Growth With Hill Robinson Group

The corona-virus crises has caused destabilisation in almost every area of our lives, but perhaps nowhere has this been more profound than that of travel. This week it is heartening to hear news of strength amongst some of the world leading yacht management & brokerage firms, as testament to the unerring durability of the yachting industry in a time of crises. We shine a spotlight onto global yacht management firm Hill Robinson, as the company builds its senior management team and its HRCrew division reports the first quarter of 2020 to be its busiest ever.

To say Hill Robinson possesses a global reach would be something of an understatement. With a worldwide presence spanning from Florida to Monaco and even Australia, Hill Robinson's admirable portfolio services and impressive superyacht fleet make this firm a truly all-inclusive solution to every charter requirement imaginable.

Hill Robinson has firmly established itself as a reliable and prestigious charter management group, boasting an expansive fleet which includes the likes of 85.3m Bold, a show-stopper at the Monaco Yacht Show last year, and Abeking & Rasmussen 78.5m Amaryllis. Now Hill Robinson group has successfully turned its hand to both the charter and brokerage spheres, acquiring Monegasque brand Moravia Yachting in 2016 to provide a seamless operation across the board.

In line with ongoing expansion, Hill Robinson has naturally announced it is strengthening its management team by welcoming Tim Leese on board to the position of COO, while Kurt Fraser joins the group as Sales and Marketing Director.

Tim Leese brings with him a wealth of experience, spending years working for automotive companies Jaguar, Land Rover and Rolls Royce Motors before moving over to the yachting industry. After establishing his success in yacht dealership in the Middle East and South East Asia, Tim Leese comments, "Joining Hill Robinson as the COO is a great opportunity to use my combined experience in the luxury automobile industry... Hill Robinson is an exciting multifaceted business challenge for me going forward with fresh opportunities in vertical client sectors they have been so successful in as they grow."

Joining Tim Leese as new recruit and heading up the Sales and Marketing for Hill Robinson Group will be Kurt Fraser. A familiar name to many in yachting, Kurt has spent the last five years as Marketing and Commercial director with leading yacht charter and sales businesses, bringing with him years of expertise to direct the strategic positioning of Moravia Yachting as an emerging boutique brokerage.

Kurt comments, " With the solid foundations built by the Partners and Directors of Hill Robinson, across practically all key areas in the superyacht client support arena, Hill Robinson and Moravia Yachting offer an exciting launch pad to reach out to our clients in new and refreshing ways. We want to focus on the way we make a difference when supporting our clients, especially in these changing and challenging times."

Meanwhile, Hill Robinson Group has reported ongoing success across its breadth of services, as the HRCrew division saw its busiest ever quarter in the beginning of this year. Fully operational and continuing to place staff in positions ranging from 25m to 130m yachts - as well as some land-based - HRCrew plays an important role in engaging young people across the world and helping the industry grow more accessible.

From top level management to Captains and crew, Hill Robinson Group has defied the challenges of the current climate with perseverance and skill. As Nick Hill, founding partner, comments, " Even with the new challenges of the 'new-normal' world with the Covid-19 epidemic we are firmly following our strategy of recruiting the best people to drive our business objectives forward."

Hill Robinson Yacht Management expands its offices to Cyprus in the Limassol Marina

With the marina in Limassol becoming ‘the destination’ for superyachts visiting Cyprus, Hill Robinson has further expanded its offering and has opened up an office amongst the smart restaurants of the marina and quality boutiques. These include our almost immediate neighbours, Graff Diamonds, who also share our locations of Monaco, Palm Beach and London.

Having operated in Nicosia since 2012, this new move will put the Hill Robinson office and its Director Stelios Kazamia, right at the centre of yachting movement in Cyprus.

With Brexit fast approaching, Cyprus, a member of the European Union since 2004 and with a regulatory regime in full compliance with the requirements of the EU and OECD, offers many economic and political possibilities. The law on the island is based on English common law, which understandably is of great benefit in making the island attractive for incorporation and business investment coupled with one of the lowest EU corporate tax rates.

monthly balances. The team also provides a stakeholder function to owners and charterers ensuring that charter fees, the APA and VAT where
applicable are paid in accordance with the MYBA Charter Agreement.

Working closely with the other international offices to provide a seamless service to our clients, Hill Robinson Cyprus is poised to significantly contribute to the brand’s growing presence and capability in the Eastern Mediterranean. This expansion coincides with a significant increase in yachting activity around the island, including the marina in Limassol and the expansion coincides with a significant increase in yachting activity around the island, including the marina in Limassol and the expanding local superyacht shipyard facilities.

Marco Rossi

Takes the helm as Fleet Manager

yacht management

With a career that spans commercial fleet management in Paris and work with the yachting industry in Florida, Marco brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Hill Robinson fleet operation.

Marco points out that, "Most people, even in the commercial side of fleet management, have noticed the growth of the yachting industry and the prominence of Hill Robinson in the superyacht market. I am very pleased that my career path has intersected with theirs. Although I only joined the business this year, I have already started the process of building a fresh driving force in the fleet management team so we can perform and deliver an ever better service for our clients."

Marco is taking over the Fleet Management role after his predecessor Mark Davies retired and is remodeling the fleet management team based on his extensive experience in the commercial marine market. Marco explains, "In my previous role with a major global company, my responsibility was to manage a fleet of research vessels that operated 365 days a year without entering port.

Marco Rossi, Hill Robinson Fleet Manager with Trina Davies and Giles Hunt

As is the norm within the maritime industry, health, safety and environment are paramount, as well as the drivers. Injury, accidents, careless management of the Owner’s assets and poor decisions on the ground can cause significant costly down-time. To achieve my goals I needed a very tight organisation of our resources, which were scattered around the globe. So, our reporting system collected data from all teams to report and analyse the issues, though more importantly, to create long term solutions rather than simply troubleshooting.

This is the new regime in the Hill Robinson group which will deliver quicker responses and better outcomes. All of the team from all offices, who impressed me greatly when I joined, have embraced this process. I think our efforts to have a refreshed coherent Fleet Management team that steer on the same course will benefit our customers and free-up Hill Robinson’s Partners to have more customer interaction and growth.”

"Deliver quicker responses and better outcomes. All of the team, who impressed me greatly when I joined, have embraced this process."
